Notes:

Her history Even though some clippings read that Laura Virginia Lancaster and D. H. Neiman were married at the home of George Jenkins, there is at least one that reads "at the home of the bride." The deed to the 2nd & DeKalb property, which Dorothy Swanson has, shows Laura Virginia Lancaster became the owner on 2 Oct 1884 and they were married on 20 Nov 1884. [source: Dorothy Swanson] Marriage in Bridgeport. Last evening at the home of Mr. George Jenkins, Second and DeKalb streets, Bridgeport, the Rev. A. J. Weddell performed the marriage ceremony for Mr. D. H. Neiman and Miss Laura V. Lancaster. The newly wedded pair started on a visit to Harrisburg where they weill sojourn for a week or ten days. The groom, Mr. Neiman, is the well-known tinsmith, and the hearty congratulations of many friends go with both the parties of this happy union. Married. NEIMAN-LANCASTER. On November 20th, 1884 in Bridgeport, at the residence of the bride , by the Rev. A. J. Weddell. Mr. Daniel H. Neiman, of Bridgeport, and Miss Laura V. Lancaster, daughter of the late John Lancaster, of Philadelphia. Celebrate in Room Where They Wed (20-Nov-1924) 1930 Census: The Neiman's owned their home, which was valued at $30,000. They had a radio. Newspaper clipping (source and date unknown) on the occasion of one of LLVLN's birthdays reads: "Birthday Surprise "A birthday surprise was tendered to Mrs. Daniel Neiman, Second and DeKalb streets, Bridgeport, last evening. Thirty were present from Philadelphia, Camden, Norristown and Bridgeport. A merry series of games was enjoyed and fabors were received by Miss Helen Frick, John Smythe and Earl Snyder. Supper was served and a large birthday cake graced the table center. Mrs. Neiman received many pretty gifts." 14-Jan-1939 - Newspaper clipping [source unknown) reads: "Mrs. L. V. Neiman Busy and Happy On 80th Birthday "Well Known County Resident Never Has An Ill Day and Has Many Interests "As animated in her interests and activity as a girl of 16, Mrs. Laura V. Neiman, of Second and DeKalb Streets, Bridgeport, will tomorrow celebrate the 80th anniversary of her birthday. "Mrs. Neiman, whose husband, Walter B. Neiman [sic], died in 1935, has lived at her present address for 59 years and was married in that residence 57 years ago. Her maiden name was Laura Lancaster. She is a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. "Mrs. Neiman is an example of finding happiness through keeping busy in her home and enjoying her friends. She is what might be termed an old fashioned housekeeper. Her schedule includes getting up before 5 Monday mornings and doing the 'family laundry.'
"She likes to do that as well as all types of needlework. At present she is crocheting a large sized afghan. She also is always ready to go for an automobile ride and recently after getting her home in order, drove with friends to Tamaqua, about a 100 mile trip and back on the same day. She last had the services of a physician (the late Dr. Mann) in 1915 when she suffered a sprained ankle. Has never known a 'real illness' in her life. "Mrs. Neiman has one son living, Walter B. Neiman, at home and two granddaughters, Dorothy and Ruth Ada Neiman, daughters of Mrs. Henry Neiman, of Norristown. An informal family party will mark the occasion tomorrow."
